Micromax was expected to launch its first 4 GB RAM based smartphone under its Yu brand today (September 8) but instead it launched an affordable handset – Yu Yunique.
The so called Yu5050, was spotted on benchmark listings with Android 5.1.1 operating system, the powerful 1.5 GHz octa core Snapdragon 810 MSM8994 processor and huge 4 GB RAM. Its Antutu benchmark report was also spotted as per which the phone has a 21 Megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera.
Even on Zauba, an import/export listing site, the Yu5050 was spotted as per which it has dual SIM, 5.2 inch display, micro SD card support, and declared value of Rs 20,295 to Rs 20,752.
Hopefully, Micromax will announce something about the Yu5050 soon.
Earlier this year, Asus launched world’s first smartphone with 4 GB RAM – the Zenfone 2 which started the trend. Soon, Lenovo and OnePlus brought their new smartphones with 4 GB RAM. Even Xiaomi is reportedly planning to bring its next flagship with 4 GB RAM.
Micromax Yu till date has launched three smartphones ( Yu Yureka, Yu Yuphoria, and Yu Yureka Plus) and one fitness Band YuFit in India. All the devices are priced below Rs 10,000.
