WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new update that will add Swipe to Reply to Android smartphones and it might also introduce a new Dark Mode for its application. The new features are currently in development and it might be rolled out soon to the users.
Starting with the Swipe to Reply feature, WABetaInfo discovered the new feature is currently in development. The report highlights that the Swipe to Reply feature is not available with the latest Beta update, but it will be added to further beta update, once the development of the new feature is completed.
With this, Android users will be able to quickly reply to a message with a gesture. Users can simply swipe right the message, which they want to reply and WhatsApp will automatically load the message in the reply context. The same feature was already available for iOS devices for a quite a while now, though it was not known why WhatsApp didn’t include this feature to Android smartphones. Apart from this, the new beta update also brings an expandable group participants list. Whenever there are more than 10 participants, WhatsApp will show a More button and once users click it, the App will show the full list of participants.
Coming to the Dark Mode, WABetaInfo revealed that the Messaging application is working to bring this mode for both Android and iOS. The dark mode will basically blacken the background with text highlighted in different colours. It would be interesting to whether the company will bring this mode to its app or not as multiple apps like YouTube, Twitter and more support Dark Mode.
