At the 42nd Reliance AGM event major focus was on Jio Fibre services but another interesting service that was unveiled by Mukesh Ambani, Chairman Reliance Industries Limited was Jio postpaid plan which will be launched on September 5th. Though he didn’t share plan details but did elaborate about its features.

Jio PostPaid Plus vs Jio Postpaid
Jio Postpaid is available to any customers who want to buys Jio SIM. It is simply a postpaid plan which every service provider offers with tariff plans. On the other hand, Jio Postpaid Plus is exclusively available only for JioFiber users who want to explore platinum-grade service and product from Jio.
Jio Postpaid Plus services:
Not much information has been shared about plans and exact details about Postpaid Plus offers but Ambani did share some features will be made available to customers.
Home Service: The first feature is if one wants to port their existing service to Jio’s postpaid service it can be done from home. One has to place a request and Jio executive will come to the residence to do the needful and even take care of activating the SIM.
Seamless connectivity: Though Ambani talked about seamless connectivity between different devices for Postpaid Plus users it is still not clear how would it happen. If we look at a typical scenario if one is on a Video call on his smartphone and wants to transfer it to continue it on TV via JioFiber Broadband will it be a smooth affair?
Data Sharing: In order to better utilize data and have a single bill for whole family data sharing service can be availed by Postpaid Plus subscribers. But it is not a new service because other operators like Airtel is already offering this service for quite some time now.
international roaming:Jio said that Postpaid Plus subscribers will be able to enjoy international Roaming at subsidized rates. Jio said that the rates will be lower than what the competition offers at the moment and the service will also be superior. One needs to wait until the plans are unveiled to have a better understanding.
Preferential rates while upgrading phones:Postpaid Plus subscribers will able to get preferential rates while upgrading their smartphones and may a contact would be in place.
