Western Digital Corporation (WD), which is one of the most popular storage devices manufacturers, yesterday announced redesigned variants of the famous ‘My Passport’ and ‘My Book’ hard drives. The new design language has been implemented in order to enhance the device user connection. Further, both the hard drives now come with Password protection and hardware Encryption to make sure the content in these hard drives is safe. WD claims that it partnered with ‘fuseproject’ to implement this design keeping the customer in mind.
To detail out a bit more, the new ‘My Passport’ comes with password protection with 256-bit AES hardware encryption. Further it also comes pre-loaded with WD Backup software for Automatic backup. My Passport drive will come in four colour variants i.e. Black, Red, White and Blue with three storage capacities incluing 1TB, 2TB and 4TB.
On the other hand, My Book comes with the same password protection technology and Automatic Backup software. Moreover, it can provide storage capacity of up to 8TB.

Regarding the Price and Availability, My Passport hard drives is available at select retailers and distributors at Rs 7,980 for 1TB variant. It also comes with 2 year limited warranty.
On the other hand, My Book hard drive is also available at different select stores at Rs 13,050 for the 3TB model and it also comes with 2 year limited warranty.
