Vodafone to launch VoLTE service in India in January 2018

Vodafone customers will experience HD quality voice calls along with faster call connect time with the VoLTE services.

Vodafone India has today announced that it will roll out its VoLTE services beginning January 2018. The company says that the VoLTE services will be available in major cities and it will be extended across the country pretty soon.

In the first phase, Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka and Kolkata will be the first to avail the VoLTE services from Vodafone. Through VoLTE services, Vodafone customers will experience quality voice calls along with faster call connect time. Vodafone 4G customers will experience VoLTE at no additional charges. All they need is a handset supporting Vodafone VoLTE and a 4G SIM.

Announcing Vodafone VoLTE service,Sunil Sood, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone India,said, “Vodafone is getting Future Ready with the advent of newer technologies and digital services. The introduction of Voice over LTE (VoLTE) will enhance customer experience with HD quality calling and offer our customers newer possibilities. Vodafone VoLTE is an important step towards introducing futuristic technology enhancing our Data Strong Network.”

Vodafone India will be the third operator to roll out VoLTE services after Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. Talking Airtel, the company has already started rolling out the VoLTE services in select circles in the country.

BSNL is all set to launch its 4G services soon in the country. Kerala will be the first circle to get the 4G LTE service of BSNL. The state-run telecom operator has 5 MHz spectrum in 2100 MHz using which it will offer 4G services. It is seeking 5 MHz more spectrum in the band to roll out 4G services in other areas.
