Under this offer, when a Vodafone customer will purchase a Lava feature, he/she can avail a cashback worth Rs 50 for 18 months on minimum recharge of Rs 100 in a calendar month. The credited makes a grand total of Rs 900 in 18 months.

The move will help Vodafone to counter Reliance JioPhone, which created some strong buzz in the telecom industry when it was introduced. Other operators are also looking to bring the alternative of the famous JioPhone and one of them is Idea Cellular.

The company is reported to launch a new smartphone in order to counter Reliance JioPhone pretty soon. The company is expected to launch its phone at a price point of Rs 2,500. Meanwhile, Airtel is also reported to partner with other handset manufacturers to provide affordable 4G-enabled feature phone. However, unlike JioPhone, Airtel will not ‘subsidise’ the cost of the handset, instead, it will bundle it different plans.
