Vodafone Idea has exclusively partnered with Hyundai to offer its services for the debut of Blue Link Connected Technology on the Hyundai Venue, which the automaker says is India’s first connected SUV. The partnership will allow the vehicle to offer safety, security and vehicle management through Vodafone Idea’s internet-based services. The Hyundai Venue subcompact SUV will be available for a starting price of Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
Vodafone Idea and Hyundai AutoEver India will now work to enable upcoming Hyundai cars with Advanced Connected Car Functionality which debuts with the launch of the Hyundai Venue. Vodafone Idea will provide Hyundai with a connected solution that will integrate voice calls, 3G/4G data, SMS, APN and API through eSIMs.
What does Hyundai’sBlue Link Connected Technology offer?
This connected coalition from Vodafone Idea will then power Hyundai’s Blue Link Technology which comes with the Hyundai Venue. The system will allow users to perform a number of functions inside the car remotely through a smartphone. These features include SOS and roadside Assistance, notifications during an auto crash, panic and maintenance as well as Live Traffic Information and Location Sharing.
Blue Link Technology on the Hyundai Venue also offers climate control, Stolen Vehicle Tracking, Find My Car and English Voice Recognition. Users will also be able to do simple gestures like turning on the AC before stepping into the car and view your diving style.
As a part of this exclusive deal, Vodafone Idea will also work as a digital partner for Hyundai AutoEver India. The move will also enable Hyundai to locate its cars, enable real-time exchange of data and power different connected car services.
Speaking about the partnership, Vodafone Idea Limited Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Nick Gliddon said “Connected Cars are set to change the way we commute and interact with our vehicles. Vodafone Idea Business Services has spent the last 18 months working closely with Hyundai AutoEver India, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group to make connected cars a reality for Hyundai in India”.
Hyundai AutoEver India MD, Oh Woo Jin also commented saying “We are extremely glad about our partnership with Vodafone Idea. We are sure that both the companies will collaborate and bring synergies in their efforts to provide seamless connected car experience to our Indian Customers. Our Blue Link Connected technology is making its debut in Hyundai’s SUV – VENUE making it India’s first smart connected car”.
