Vivo X21s unveiled with in-display fingerprint sensor, teardrop notch

Like the X21 smartphone, the Vivo X21s is powered by a Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The device features a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display with a teardrop notch on top, a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

A little over a week after announcing the Vivo X23 Star Edition, Vivo has unveiled the Vivo X21s smartphone in China. The X21s is a bigger sibling to the Vivo X21 which made its debut in India back in May and the only significant difference between the two is the size of the notch at the top of the display.

Like X21 smartphone, the Vivo X21s is powered by a Snapdragon 660 AIE with 6GB of and 128GB of storage. The device features a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display with a teardrop notch on top, a of 2340 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

The device comes with a dual camera setup at the back which includes a combination of a 12MP f/1.8 main lens and a 5MP f/2.4 aperture secondary sensor. There’s a 24.8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, all of which are equipped with scene recognition, AI and AI beauty technology.

For security, the front camera is coupled with an sensor to support facial recognition even in the dark. As an added measure, the X21 also features an in-display fingerprint scanner on the front just like the Vivo X21.

The X21s runs on 8.1 Oreo with Vivo’s FunTouch 4.5 UI on top. The device features Dual-turbo technology which uses CPU + GPU software optimisations to enable improved performance while gaming on the phone. The phone is fuelled by a 3,400mAh battery which supports dual-engine flash charging. Connectivity options include 5.0, GPS, WiFi, micro USB and a jack.

The Vivo X21s is available in Starry Night Black and Millennium Pink for an asking price of 2,498 yuan (approx. Rs 26,100).
