After weeks of leaks and teasers, Vivo has finally launched the Vivo V11 smartphone in China. The mid-range comes with an all-screen display, a water-drop notch, dual rear cameras and flashy new colours and will be launched in India tomorrow as the V11 Pro following today’s China release.
The Vivo V11 packs in a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED Display with a Resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and the display spans across a screen-to-body ratio of 91.2 percent. There’s a notch cut out for the front facing camera which is shaped like a tiny water-drop and the front of the device also equips the in-display fingerprint sensor and is Vivo’s first mid-range phone to do so.
Powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset, the V11 comes with an Adreno 512 graphics, 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Users will be able to expand the storage on the phone through a microSD card which has a dedicated slot in addition to the dual SIM slots.
For imaging, the device uses a dual camera setup at the back with 12MP (f/1.8) primary sensor coupled and a secondary 5MP (f/2.4) module for depth sensing. There’s a large 25-megapixel (f/2.0) lens on the front which uses AI for clicking selfies. The front camera is also used for Face Access which is Vivo’s word for face unlock.
The Vivo V11 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Vivo’s Funtouch 4.5 OS on top. The software makes use of the company’s Jovi AI engine for optimising performance through CPU and memory allocations. All of this is fuelled by a 3,400mAh battery with support for 18-watt quick charging that’s input through a Micro USB port.
