A week after unveiling its newest sub-brand as iQOO, Vivo has announced a smartphone under a new U-series labelled as the Vivo U1. The device comes with entry-level specs, large battery, dual rear cameras and a 19:9 display for a starting price of 799 yuan (approx. Rs 8,400).
The Vivo U1 features a 6.22-inch HD+ FullView 2.5D curved display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a resolution of 1520 x720 pixels. It’s powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 Processor with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage options.

The U1 comes with dual rear cameras for primary imaging and thus equips a combination of a 13MP sensor and a 2MP depth sensor with LED flash. On the front, there’s an 8MP camera for video calling and selfies and the sensor also supports face unlock.
Vivo’s U1 smartphone comes running Android 8.1 Oreo coupled with its own FunTouch OS 4.5. it’s fuelled by a 4,030 man battery. Dimensions are 155.1 × 75.09 × 8.28 mm and the phone weighs in at 163.5 grams.
Vivo U1 will be available for purchase in Aurora Red, Purple and Midnight Black colour variants for a starting price of 799 yuan (approx. Rs 8,400) for the base 3GB RAM model. Its 4GB version can be bought for 1,199 yuan (approx. Rs 12,600).
