Vimeo, which provides videos like YouTube, has released its official application for Microsoft Windows Phone OS based smartphones. The official Vimeo App allows searching, managing, watching videos and also will allow uploading videos even in HD quality. Vimeo is an online community/social network for video uploads, viewing and sharing.
The official Vimeo app will give competition to the YouTube app which is merely like a shortcut icon for the Windows Phone platform. New Vimeo app is not only a video player but much more than that. Users can watch and manage the queue of the existing videos on Vimeo. Besides, users can like, comment and even share the videos over Twitter or Facebook easily.
One of the interesting features of this app is the HD quality video upload option which comes with pause function as well. That means if you are uploading a video, you can stop any time and continue uploading it over a better and faster connection (WiFi).
Registered users also get the liberty to edit the titles, descriptions, tags and manage the privacy settings of the uploaded videos.
The Vimeo app is available in the Windows Marketplace for the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango or higher running devices.
