Use iPhone to monitor your blood pressure

iHealth has launched a blood pressure monitoring app for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The app lets users test, track, and graph their blood pressure from home.

iHealth Lab, a designer and manufacturer of digital healthcare products, has announced the iHealth Blood Pressure Monitoring for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

The system comprises of a hardware dock, blood pressure arm cuff and iHealth app. The dock also doubles up as a charging station for all three devices. The app lets users monitor their blood pressure themselves, and share results with others including family, and most importantly, the doctor.

“By identifying how daily activities affect one’s vitals like blood pressure and heart rate, people can be more proactive about their personal healthcare.” said Yi Liu, the chief executive officer of iHealth Lab.

The companion iHealth App allows the user to view his blood pressure, track it over time etc. Previously recorded data sets, patterns by date and time of day and custom graphs and charts are available and easy to use. It is also possible to share results with their doctor, or loved ones.

The iHealth Blood Pressure Monitoring system with a battery-powered docking station and blood pressure arm cuff is available for about $100 from iHealth99.com, unfortunately shipping to India is not an option, but you could ask someone abroad to send it to you.
