Apple iPhone users may face some problems during in App purchases in future. Reportedly Apple has filed for the patents of in app purchases that allow users to buy the advanced or full version of an application after experiencing a demo version.
However another company, Lodsys claims the rights of in app purchases and Apple has been paying license fee to it since the time in app purchases were enabled for the iOS devices.
And the tussle between Apple and Lodsys over the in app purchases has now brought the uncertainty over whether users will continue to be able to make in app purchases conveniently from within their apps or they may have to switch to outside stores in future.
The Apple patent application talks about product purchase offer, a transparent and translucent purchase interface, an application server linking app to the users, and the advertisement which will represent the app to the users. It also talks about providing the opportunity to the users to buy the product from a separate store as well — basically, these things are just a description of how an in app purchase works.
