UMI Mobile, a Chinese handset brand, has now entered the Indian mobile phone market with an HD display bearing Android smartphone.
Named as UMI X1, the phone comes with 4.5 inch HD display (1280x720p), MediaTek MTK6577 Chipset based 1 GHz dual core processor coupled, 1 GB RAM and 4 GB of ROM. The Android 4.0 based handset also comes with 8 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front camera. There is also a dual LED flash light at the back.
A 1750 mAH battery powers the phone and like most budget Android, it too comes with Dual SIM connectivity. UMI X1 has also 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity and set of sensors.
The phone has got positive reviews in China. In India, it is priced at Rs 9,999, thus it looks attractive. Similar phones from Indian brands are also available in slightly higher price range, however all of them come with qHD display.
Recently many Chinese brands are entering Indian mobile market, GFive was one of the first such brand. Recently, Zopo has also entered the market.
