Nearly half a year after it introduced the Boom 3 Bluetooth speaker for Rs 15,995, Ultimate Ears has announced the Wonderboom 2 entry-level Bluetooth speakers. The successor to the original Wonderboom speakercomes with a larger battery unit and stereo sound paring for a price of $99 (approx. Rs 6,900).
While having a resemblance to the original Wonderboom speaker, the Wonderboom 2 comes with a promise of 13 hours of music playback which can be charged back to full within 2.6 hours. The speakers are rated with an IP67 certification, meaning the device is waterproof, dust-proof so much that it floats on water.
In design terms, the speaker is sized at 95.3mm x 104mm and weighs at 420 grams. The speakers come with a two-tone fabric material with a centre button for play/pause and to pair it to another device. The signature larger-size plus/minus buttons for volume control are present as well as a new bungee cord loop.
The new speakers come with an improved Double Up feature that allows users to pair two Wonderboom 2 speakers with stereo sound separation. There’s also a new Outdoor Boost mode button at the bottom of the speaker which gives users more sound output at scenarios where there are only a few surfaces where bass barn bounce out of.
The Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2 will be available in Deep Space Black, Bermuda Blue, Radical Red and Crushed Ice Grey colours from June 25 for a price of $99 (approx. Rs 6,900).
