Twitter mobile web app gets makeover

Users of those devices, which haven't received their official Twitter app yet, can use this application. It will be rolled out gradually to iPod Touch, iPhone and Android users but more devices will soon get the new version of this app.

Those, who haven’t been through the Twitter mobile web application, recently, are in for a treat. The micro blogging service has decided to launch a new web for mobile devices for better user experience.

The new app borrows some aspects from its and counterparts. The navigation bar can be found at the top of the window. The new design also allows the users to read their feed and messages at the top, where they can also search and access profiles.

The web app uses the HTML5 extensively and scales up easily for tablets too.

On the new mobile web app, Twitter in a blog post, said, “This web app allows us to provide a high-quality and consistent Twitter experience on high-end touchscreen devices &#151 whether or not an official Twitter application is available. It was built from the ground up for smartphones and tablets, which have more advanced browsers that support the latest web technologies, including HTML5.”

So, even the users of those devices, which haven’t received their official Twitter app yet, can use this application.

This move may help the PlayBook users who are yet to receive the official Twitter application.

The new version of the Twitter web app will be rolled out gradually to iPod Touch, iPhone and Android users but more devices will soon get the new version of this app.

It appears Twitter is trying to make sure users get a uniform experience across all mobile platforms, wherever they use the site.
