Transcend has launched its new speedy Class 10 microSDHC cards with better data transfer speed capability.
Class 10 is currently the best speed rating available for an SD card, hitting the maximum transfer rate of 20 MB/second on devices supporting SD 3.0.
Class 10 is the speed classification of microSD cards and refers to its capability of data transfer speed of up to 20 MB/second for Full HD video recording and HD still consecutive recording.
These days even stills (photos) taken with a DSLRs(high end cameras) require better transfer speed as a single shot taken from a 20 Megapixel camera is at times more than 10MB and thus can be slowed down by a lower class memory card.
This new card is available in capacity of up to 16GB, and will suit the requirements of high-end mobile devices such as smartphones, latest digital cameras, driving recorders, and tablet PCs. Strangely there is no 32GB option right now.
The 16GB microSDHC cards can store up to 6552 pictures (based on 5 megapixel JPEG compression format), over 88 hours of standard quality video (MPEG-4 video at 384 Kbps), or 240 minutes of HD video (AVCHD at 9 Mbps).
The new Class 10 microSDHC memory cards come with a microSDHC card adapter so that it fits in SDHC slot as well, such as in the digital cameras that have an SDHC slot.
All Transcend’s SDHC and microSDHC cards are supplied with a limited lifetime warranty. The Class 10 microSDHC card is offered in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities, with price of Rs 800 for the 4GB model, Rs 1300 for the 8GB model and Rs 3800 for the 16GB model.
