Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has extended the SMS guidelines from 100 SMSs per day per SIM to 200 SMSs per day per SIM. This relaxation will certainly make several marketers as well as individuals happy. It was just two months ago that TRAI had implemented the 100 SMSs per day per SIM limit for mobile subscribers in order to control spam messages.
Later the regulator relaxed this limit for festivals provided that no commercially unsolicited messages would be sent out.
Yesterday TRAI sent out an official statement saying that it recieved requests from some service providers and consumers to increase the 100 SMSs per day limit. After considering these requests TRAI has bumped the SMS guidelines limit to 200 SMSs per day per SIM for authorised marketers and individuals.
