Global navigation services provider, TomTom has announced the launch of its Android based navigation App for India. The application, which is based on TomTom’s maps and backed with its technology, has been made available through the Google Play Store for Rs 2,050 for which it provides detailed maps along with full offline support.
TomTom’s Android application comes embedded with IQ Routes that bring the latest map and the fastest routes options to the users. The app includes landmark navigation, allowing users to search a place by popular landmarks and free quarterly map updates which ensure that drivers always have the latest map on their smartphone. The TomTom maps used for navigation are stored offline on the device itself, which means that users don’t have to worry network connection. The application is fully capable of providing navigation data utilizing a device’s GPS (Global Positioning system) hardware only.
The application comes with full turn by turn navigation support and also offers lifetime support. The application also has integrated support for multitasking which means users can answer calls even when the application is running and it continues to run during the phone call as well.
