This may sound weird but some users on Google Forums have reported that images sent from an iPhone 7 Plus to a Google Pixel device appear distorted on the Pixel device regardless of the App through which it was sent.
Interestingly, the images are said to be the screenshots taken on the iPhone 7 Plus. And to add to the weirdness, screenshots taken on home screen appear fine whereas if taken anywhere else, they appear distorted.
Interestingly, this bug is only seen if the images are sent from an iPhone 7 Plus to a Pixel device and not vice versa. Further images sent to other Android 7.0 running devices including Nexus 6P appeared fine.
One user claimed that the issue is resolved if the image is sent through a third-party app but Firstpost wrote that the said claim couldn’t be verified.
According to the users on the forum, the issue is due to how Android 7.1.1 handle image files. As of now, Google hasn’t addressed this issue and as per the latest update on the Google Forums, the issue seems to have been solved with Android 7.1.1 update on Nexus 5X.
Till then, if you happen to own both Google Pixel and iPhone 7 Plus, do let us know if you are facing a similar issue in the comments section below.
