In the last few days it looks like most of the handset players are in a rush to launch entry-level smartphones and the latest one to join the bandwagon is Swipe. It has launched a new smartphone called Elite for Rs 5,999. It is available exclusively on Flipkart.
Swipe Elite has a 5 inch display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core Processor and 2 GB RAM. It comes with 16 GB internal memory, which is expandable to up to 32 GB through a micro SD card. On the camera front, it has a 13 Megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. It is powered by a 2,500 mAh battery.
The phone has Android Lollipop operating system and has a custom user interface called Freedom OS. the company claims that Freedom OS offers features like Theming Engine which can be used to create themes, customisable home screen gestures and 100GB Cloud Storage Space on Swipe Box.
Besides, the Swipe Elite has dual SIM, 3G, OTG support, FM radio, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GPS, proximity and light sensor. The phone weighs 131.3 grams and measures 142×70.8×8.05 mm.
In the past few weeks, a couple of handsets that have been launched in the sub Rs 6,000 price category are Phicomm Energy 653, Lenovo A2010 and Lava Iris Atom 2 which are likely to give tough competition to Swipe Elite.
