Spice had earlier announced that it would launch an Android tablet, and is finally prepared to do so next week, a Spice spokesperson confirmed to The Mobile Indian.
The tablet will reach stores only mid next week. In the meantime, you can book the tablet on letsbuy.com, which will deliver it as soon as it is released. Saholic.com, which is Spice Mobile’s own merchant site, surprisingly hasn’t talked about the tablet till now.
Spice Mi-720 runs on Android 2.2 and is powered by an 800 MHz Qualcomm processor. It has a 7 inch capacitive touch display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution.
This tablet can also be used as a smartphone since it supports the use of a SIM card and allows one to make calls. For convenience, it can be paired with a Bluetooth or wired headset.
The graphics are taken care of by an Adreno 200 graphics processor. It also has a 4-axis gravity sensor, which lends it gaming capabilities.
Spice Mi-720 is a 3G tablet. It supports up to 7.2 Mbps download speeds and 5.76 Mbps upload speeds. It also supports GPRS and Edge, WiFi hotspot and USB tethering.
The tablet supports an HTML Browser with Adobe Flash Player, and it has YouTube preloaded for faster access.
Besides, this tablet has dual cameras: a 2 Megapixel primary camera at the back and a VGA front camera. It has 32 GB of external memory as well. It’s powered by a 4,200 mAh battery, which is decent for this segment.
Going by the specs, it is closely matched to the Reliance 2G Tab. However, Reliance offers bundled 3G plans with its tablet and costs just Rs 1,000 extra.
