Spice Dream Uno was the first smartphone in India under Google’s Android One programme under which affordable devices with pure Google experience are being offered to people. In short, these are the cheaper versions of Nexus devices which have pure Android UI and have high end hardware and thus are offered in mid to high range price bracket.
The Spice Dream Uno offers a 4.5 inch IPS LCD display with 480×854 pixels resolution, 1.3 Ghz quad core processor, 5 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB internal storage, 32 GB micro SD card slot, dual SIM, 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi, and a 1700 mAh Li-Ion battery.
Micromax’s Canvas A1 and Karbonn’s Sparkle V are other two smartphones to be launched under Android One programme. Just recently Google announced the availability of Android Lollipop update for Android One devices after which the announcement of Spice came. So Micromax and Karbonn too are likely to announce the Android 5.0 update for their Canvas A1 and Sparkle V smartphones respectively very soon.
If you own any of these smartphones, go to your Settings -> About Phone -> Software Update to get (or check the availability) of the update.
