After Instagram introduced ‘Stories’ and Zoom capabilities into the app, the Facebook-owned photo sharing App will soon bring in features that would allow you to like comments and disable them from your post if you want.
In a recent blog post, Instagram has announced that after testing out the feature with a small number of users, the company will now roll out the update to everyone in the coming weeks.
“We’ll soon add a way to turn off comments on any post. Sometimes there may be moments when you want to let your post stand on its own. Previously this was only available for a small number of accounts. In a few weeks, it will be available for everyone.” – read the blog post.
When the update comes, one has to go to ‘Advanced Settings’ before posting the image and select ‘Turn Off Commenting’ to disable the comments on his/her post. Not only this, with this update, Instagram will add the famous heart icon just next to the comment so that one can show support and encouragement if he likes the comment. In short, Instagram is heading towards its parent company – Facebook.
Apart from this, the new update will also allow someone to remove a follower without notifying the other person. As of now, you can only do so by blocking the follower. Justifying this, Instagram said in the blog post – “Some people on Instagram choose to have private accounts, which means they approve each follower. This is an important way for people to feel comfortable sharing with close friends and family.”
Lastly, Instagram will also introduce a new feature which will let you anonymously report self-injury reports about one of your friend.
