Sony is widely expected to unveil Sony Xperia XR in September at this year’s IFA event. Now some reports have surface online which reveals that Sony will be announcing two smartphones, namely Sony Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact, and not Xperia XR during IFA Berlin.
The IFA is an annual and one of the oldest industrial exhibitions. It is usually held in the month of September in Berlin and this time it will be held during September 2-7.
Popular twitter leakster Evan Blass had leaked an image of Sony Xperia X Compact yesterday. He though said nothing about its specification.
Meanwhile, Sony Mobile’s Czech website had listed Sony Xperia X Compact along with Xperia XZ (which is expected to be Xperia XR only). But sadly the website has not revealed their specs either. We have already seen the Sony Xperia XR leaks before. The listing was spotted by a website, TechTastic. The Sony site mentions the Xperia XZ with the caption – photography and the Xperia X Compact with the caption – pictures without blur.
As per the website, the Sony Xperia XZ will feature a 5.2-inch curved 2.5D glass display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 coupled with 4GB RAM. The device is also expected to sport 23-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and a laser Autofocus and a 13-megapixel front camera.
The Sony Xperia X Compact on the other hand is expected to features a 4.6-inch screen, a Snapdragon 820 SoC and a 2700 mAh battery. Both the Xperia X Compact and the Xperia XZ feature a USB Type C port.
We have to wait for IFA event to exactly know what Sony devices are going to announced in Berlin this year.
