Sony has announced a price cut for its Xperia X and Xperia Z5 Premium smartphones. Sony has slashed the price of Xperia X by Rs 10,000 while Xperia Z5 Premium is now cheaper by Rs 8,000.
Post this price cut (which is applicable from September 1), Xperia X now retails for Rs 38,990 while the Z5 Premium has now an official price tag of Rs 47,990. At the time of launch in May 2016, the Xperia X had an MRP of Rs 48,990 while the Xperia Z5 Premium was available for Rs 55,990.
The price revision was expected as Sony has just revealed two new flagship handsets- Xperia XZ and X Compact. And we are now expecting Sony to announce these latest flagships for the Indian market. Another reason for the latest price cut could be their non-performance in the Indian market.
The Sony Xperia X has a 5 inch Triluminous display featuring full HD resolution. With a 2620 mAh battery, this Snapdragon 650 processor based handset promises up to two days of battery back up. It has 3 GB of RAM that runs this Android Marshmallow operating system. The Dual SIM Sony Xperia X has 64 GB of internal storage that can be increased up to 200 GB through a micro SD card.
But the highlight of Sony Xperia X is its cameras – it has a 23 Megapixel rear camera that has 1/2.3” Exmor RS for mobile sensor, Predictive Hybrid AF, Quick launch, 5x Clear Image Zoom, 24mm Wide Angle G Lens and F2.0 aperture. Its front 13 megapixel front camera has 1/3” Exmor RS for mobile sensor, Quick launch, 22mm Wide Angle Lens and F2.0 aperture.
The Sony Xperia X5 Premium has 5.5 inch 4K display. It too has the same 23 megapixel rear camera as the Xperia X but it has a 5 MP front camera. Besides it has a bigger 3430 mAh battery, Snapdragon 810 processor, 3 GB RAM, dual nano SIM slots, Android Marshmallow OS, 32 GB ROM and 200 GB micro SD card slot.
