Sony Xperia X Ultra to feature 6.4-inch Full HD ultra-wide screen with 21:9 aspect ratio: Report

The smartphone will come with a 6.45-inch Full HD display with an unusual aspect ratio of 21:9.

We earlier reported that Sony is working on a new smartphone which would company’s answer to the new trend of a large screen in a smaller body. The latest leaked renders hints some key specifications in the display department and gives a glimpse of the upcoming device.
To start with, the smartphone will come with a 6.45-inch Full display with an unusual aspect ratio of 21:9. For your reference, the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ and LG G5 sports an aspect ratio of 18:5:9 and 18:9 respectively. The 21:9 aspect ratio might be seen as a bit odd in nature, but it will surely large screen. Earlier, leaked suggest that it will have a nearly bezel-less design and now the leaked renders also reveal that it will come loaded with dual-stereo speakers as well.
Further, the leaks reveal the dimension of the upcoming device. The Xperia X Ultra will measures 165 wide, 70.5 mm tall and 7.8 mm thin, which makes it a compact smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S8+ is 159.5mm wide, 73.4 mm tall and 8.1 mm thick, while the LG G6, is 148.9mm wide, 71.9 mm tall and 7.9mm. If we compare all the three devices, then surely, the Xperia X Ultra looks more compact than the other two flagship devices, especially in terms of tallness and thickness.
Other than this, the leak renders also reveals some key specifications of the upcoming smartphone. For instance, it will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 along with Adreno 512 and will be backed by a 4GB of and 64GB of internal storage. On the camera, one can expect a 19-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, which is present in the Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZs. For the front, there will 13-megapixel shooter.
The smartphone will run on latest Nougat and will be juiced up by a 3050mAh battery coupled with USB Type-C port and Quick Charge 3.0. Like other Sony handsets, this one will also be equipped with certifications making it water and dust resistant. The smartphone is reported to come loaded with at least two colour options including a red and grey colour variants. Then there might be a dark grey colour variant as well.
