Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo and Tipo Dual unveiled with Android 4.0 ICS

Sony Mobile has introduced Android 4.0 ICS based new entry level smartphones.

Sony Mobile started teasing off new upcoming smartphones through its official Facebook account. Accidently, the company made those smartphone official as Sony Xperia Miro, Xperia Tipo and Xperia Tipo Dual. All three smartphones appear to be targeted at the entry level or mid-range category.

These three handsets will run 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update by default. Out of these three, the Xperia miro is a Facebook-centric smartphone with the social network integrated to different parts. Out of these three, the Tipo Dual is a Android 4.0 ICS running mobile phone.

The Xperia Tipo is a single SIM rendition of the Xperia Tipo Dual which obviously comes with dual SIM configuration support. Both smartphones feature a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with 480×320 pixel resolution. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile processor, these smartphones have only 2.5 user accessible memory out of the 4 GB onboard memory.

The Xperia Tipo Dual can accommodate two SIMs at the same time and one can switch between those SIMs by pressing a single button. Not only that, you can manually set the phone to automatically switch between the SIMs.

The Xperia Miro features 3.5-inch touchscreen display which is decent enough to browse the social networks. At the back lies a modest 5 megapixel camera with flash and the phone integrates a Sony xLOUD audio technology for crisper audio output. There’s also a front facing camera for video chat. This smartphone has unique illumination settings that glow for incoming messages and social updates. It also comes with special Xperia with Facebook app that will aid users to quickly update their Facebook stream.

Sony has not clarified on when these smartphones will be made available in India.
