Sony has announced the Sony Xperia 8 smartphone in Japan. The Sony Xperia 8 is priced at 54,000 yen (Rs 35,840 approx.) and it will be available for sale later this month in Japan. The phone comes in Gray, Black, Orange, Blue colour options.
Sony Xperia 8 features a 6-inch Full HD+ display with 2560 x 1080 pixels resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It is powered by 2.2Ghz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Processor with Adreno 508 GPU.
The phone has 4GB RAM, 64GB Internal Memory and expandable memory up to 512GB via microSD card. The smartphone is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint reader. There is a side sense bar that gives access to the frequently used apps and settings on the device.
For the camera department, the Xperia 8 is equipped with a dual-camera setup with a combination of 12-megapixel primary sensor with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, EIS and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture, 2x optical zoom. For the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The phone runs on Android Pie and is backed up by 2760mAh Battery with fast charging. Connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C. In addition, the device is waterproof (IPX5 / IPX8), dustproof (IP6X) rated and comes with a 3.5mm Headphone jack. The phone measures 158 x 69 x 8.1 mm and weighs 170 grams.
