Sony Tablet S expected to be launched by September

The tablet will be able to connect with other devices in the home through the digital living network alliance and play different media including videos and music on them.

Some time ago, a few official videos from Sony had suggested the likely arrival of its tablets S1 and S2. Now, according to Engadget, the company is going to officially announce the launch of Sony Tablet S within the first half of the month September 2011.

It is reported the tablet will have a 9.4 inch screen and will sport a of 1024 x 768. It was earlier expected to have Android’s Honeycomb but now it is suggested the tablet may run Ice Cream Sandwich, if it is launched by Google by that time.

This tablet will also have an blaster which will enable the users to control their home network through the tablet.

The tablet will also be able to connect with other devices in the home through the digital living network alliance and play different media including videos and music on them.

The tablet will have a 3 front facing camera and 5 megapixel back facing camera. The screen of the tablet would be equipped with TruBlack technology which will be able to display better colour and will be less irritating to the users due to reduced glare.

The Sony Tablet S will also have preloaded Sony software for movies, music and books. The Sony PlayStation suite will also be preloaded on it. The pricing for the tablet has not been specified yet though earlier Internet reports had pegged the price at less than Rs 30,000.
