Sony starts rolling out Nougat update for Xperia XZ

With Android 7.0 Nougat comes all the new features like multi-window support, notification panel layout, longer battery life (Doze on the go) etc. The multi-window support, as the name suggests, lets you run two apps simultaneously and also allows to switch between the two most recent apps with a double tap on recent apps/menu button. Doze on the go coupled with Sony’s inbuilt power saving functions will help your Xperia XZ last longer. Further, with the Nougat update, Google’s new messaging Allo will also come pre-installed.

Last week, Sony started rolling out the update update for Xperia X Performance.

Just to recall the specifications, Sony Xperia XZ features a 5.2-inch full (1920×1080 pixels) Triluminos display with protection. Underneath the hood, the device is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor paired with Adreno 530 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The dual SIM variant of Xperia XZ comes with 64GB of internal storage while the single SIM model has 32 internal storage. Nevertheless, both the variants come with a memory expansion slot which can hold a microSD card up to 256GB micro SD. Running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the device features a 2,900 battery with Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging technology and a fingerprint sensor. On top of this, it is also dust and water resistant and is IP65/IP68 certified for the same.

Coming to the camera, the Sony Xperia XZ boasts a 23-megapixel primary camera with 1/2.3″ Exmos RS sensor and f/2.0 lens. At the front, there is a 13-megapixel front-firing shooter for selfies and video chats which come with 1/3″ Exmor RS sensor, 22mm f/2.0 lens, 1080p video recording. The smartphone supports LTE network and comes will GPS/GLONASS, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, a USB Type-C port and 4.2. The Sony Xperia XZ measures 146 x 72 x 8.1 mm and weighs 161 grams. For the price, Sony Xperia XZ sells at Rs 49,990, the MRP being Rs 51,990.
