Sony has expanded its camera portfolio in India with the launch of the Sony RX100 VII compact camera for Rs 96,990. The successor to last year’s RX100 VI comes with real-time tracking, eye focus and an external mic port.
Launched globally in July, RX100 VII comes with a 1.0-type stacked 20.1 MP Exmor RS CMOS image sensor and is powered by a BIONZ X image processor. The camera is coupled with a fixed ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T 24-200mm(8) F2.8-4.5 high magnification zoom lens which offers Optical Zoom to up to 8.3x.
The Sony camera features a 0.39-inch OLED electronic XGA viewfinder with 2.359-mega dots and a 2.95-inch LCD screen with 180-degree tilting ability.
The Sony RX100 VII is loaded with an enhanced Autofocus system which comprises of 357 phase-detection AF points and 425 contrast-detection AF points for a wider operating view. There’s a Single Burst Shooting mode which will allow users to click the shutter to get seven images.
The camera offers full 4K video recording with image stabilisation, no pixel binning, vertical video support, Log and HLG for HDR workflows. It supports frame rates of 90 fps, 60 FPS or 30 fps for regular videos and can shoot slow-motion videos at 960fps.
Sony RX100 VII comes with a 3.5mm microphone jack with NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth and micro-HDMI for connectivity. It has a built-in flash. The camera weighs 302 grams and measures 102mm x 58mm x 43mm.
