Sony has now issued an update for its Xperia Z, following complaints of Xperia Z dying mysteriously.
The software patch is purely a fix for the sudden death issue and has no additional features for the device whatsoever. The size of the patch file has also been kept lower so that it can be quickly downloaded and installed on the user’s devices before the problem crops up.
As The Mobile Indian had reported earlier, many users of the Sony Xperia Z have complained that their handset went dead suddenly without any obvious reason. Since Xperia Z has non-removable battery, the problems compounded further for the users. In handsets with removable battery, such situations are easier to dealt with as one can easily take out the battery to make it work.
Hopefully, the new update will save many Xperia X devices. Meanwhile, the new Sony Xperia Z update has been rolled out over the air for global users and a same will be coming to user’s device in the form of notification as and when the upgrade patch is made available in the region.
Sony Xperia Z, which was launched in India just a few days back, comes with a 5 inch touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution, and is dust and water resistant. It has a quad core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm processor, 2 GB RAM, Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean operating system, 16 GB internal memory, 32 GB expandable storage slot, 2330 mAh battery, 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 2 megapixel front camera.
