Sony may kill its M & C phone series in favour of X series

Earlier this year, Sony confirmed that the Xperia Z series would be replaced by the new Xperia X series. Now a new report claims that the company plans to kill Xperia C and Xperia M series of smartphones in favour of the X series. According to Sony Xperia blog, the company may replace these two smartphone ranges with its X series by 2018. So Sony is planning to continue with the latest X Series for two more years.
X series
Some leaked slides from Chinese website ePrice shows Sony using the “X” logo for the 2016-2018 “Chapter 3” in its roadmap. The chapter indicates how the Xperia X branding stands for “Xperia for new communication”. Chapter 1 was from 2010-2012 shows Sony focusing on “open OS for web communication.” The Chapter 2 from 2013-2015 was all about the “best of Sony,” when Sony made Xperia Z series smartphones.
X series
This could also mean that recently leaked Sony Xperia C6 Ultra may in fact launch as the Xperia X Ultra.
X series
Sony had announced three smartphones – Xperia X, Xperia XA and Xperia X Performance at Mobile World Congress held in February this year. Both the Xperia X and XA are armed with 5 inch full HD curved display, 23 megapixel rear camera, 13 megapixel front camera, 3 GB RAM, 200 GB micro SD card slot, and Android Marshmallow operating system. These two devices have DLNA, NFC, 4.2, WiFi, Miracast, and GPS with and AGNSS.
X series
The Sony Xperia X’s single SIM variant has 32 GB of while the dual SIM variant will have 64 GB of internal memory. The 153 grams weighing Xperia X has a 2620 battery that claims to offer 2 days of back up. The Sony Xperia X, which measures 69.4 x 142.7 x 7.9mm, comes in white, graphite black, lime gold and rose gold colours.

The Sony Xperia XA also comes in dual and single SIM variants and both of them have 32 GB of internal memory. It has a 2700 mAh battery and it also comes in white, graphite black, lime gold and rose gold colours.

The Sony Xperia X Performance also comes in dual and single SIM variants (both slots). It has 2 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, 200 GB micro SD card slot, Android Marshmallow operating system, 64 bit MediaTek MT6755 octa core processor, 2300 mAh battery, 5 inch HD display, 13 megapixel rear camera, 8 megapixel front camera, FM radio, and 4G connectivity.
