Sony has formally announced the launch of its Android based smartphones, Xperia Tipo and Xperia Tipo Dual, in India. Both the handsets come with Android ICS operating system preloaded. While the Sony Tipo is priced at Rs 9,999, the other handset has been priced at Rs 10,499.
Vodafone is also offering 500 MB of free 3G data every month for three months with these handsets. The offer is however valid till December 31 of this year.
The Sony Xperia Tipo comes with a 3.2 inch scratch-resistant display with 320 x 480 Pixels resolution. It has Android v4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system, an 800 MHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor and Sony’s own Timescape user interface.
Besides, it has a 3.2 megapixel camera, 512 MB RAM, 1500 mAh battery, 2.5 GB of internal memory with expandable storage slot of 32 GB, and other common Android smartphone features like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS etc.
The Sony Xperia Tipo Dual is essentially the dual SIM version of the Xperia Tipo. Like Tipo, the Xperia Tipo Dual comes with Android v4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system, an 800 MHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor and Sony’s own Timescape user interface. It too has a 3.2 inch scratch-resistant display with 320 x 480 Pixels resolution. All other features are the same as the Sony Xperia Tipo.
Both the phones are already available from many retailers.
