Smartphone manufacturer, Sony Ericsson seems all set to launch a new handset under its Xperia brand. Purported images of the new 2012 Xperia family smartphone with model number ST25i and codename Kumquat have been leaked online.
Xperia Blog reported that the images are indeed of the Sony Ericsson ST25i Kumquat handset with 3.5-inch display and dual-core mobile processor. This handset will be branded as Sony Xperia U smartphone at its anticipated launch at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona next month.
The Sony Ericsson Kumquat ST25i will come with 3.5-inch touchscreen display and will support FWGA (480×854) pixel resolution natively. This smartphone will have the same looks as that of the Xperia S and will house a dual-core 1 GHz mobile processor. It is most likely to run Android 2.3 Gingerbread which will be upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. At the rear, there will be a 5 Megapixel camera.
Sony Ericsson will launch this smartphone as Xperia U at the Mobile World Congress 2012. The Xperia U brand name was spotted at the Indonesian Directorate General of Resources, Post and Information’s Testing Center for Telecommunication devices.
Sony Ericsson recently announced new Xperia S and Xperia Ion at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 in Las Vegas, USA. The Mobile Indian reported about the upcoming Sony Ericsson handsets Nypon ST22i, Pepper MT27i and Tapioca ST21i are expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, Spain starting next month.
