Some OnePlus 6 users are complaining about battery drainage issue after new update

Some users are now taking to the official company forums to report severe battery drainage problems on their devices. Multiple users are complaining that after updating their devices to the latest OxygenOS 5.1.8 update, the smartphone’s battery starts to deplete at a much faster pace.

OnePlus recently rolled out a new update for its range of devices including the latest OnePlus 6. However, some users are now taking to the official company forums to report severe battery drainage problems on their devices.

Multiple users are complaining that after updating their devices to the latest OxygenOS 5.1.8 update, the phone’s battery starts to deplete at a much faster pace. “I don’t know why but my OP6 has been draining the battery really fast since the 5.1.8 update. The screen is pulling most power and I only get like 5-6 hours of screen time. Before the update I had like 11-12 hours, maybe even more with the same amount of usage,” said one user.

Users are reporting that the phone is completely shutting down even the battery is charged above 50 per cent. Some users are also experiencing camera freeze, while for some, the DND mode and Gaming Mode are not working properly with the latest update. The company is yet to make an official statement about the same.

The bug is a serious one as the smartphone has become an integral part of life and with such battery drainage issue and sudden shutdown, makes it difficult to use it. Up until now, the OnePlus 6 has received a bunch of updates since its launch and along with that came a ton of extra features to the camera, display and even performance of the phone. While the first update revolved around slow-mo video support and hiding the notch, latter updates made room for improved battery by removing the Always On feature, a new portrait mode for selfies and dual support.
