This week total eight smartphone launched in India from brands like Karbonn, LFY, Coolpad and ASUS. Karbonn has added four affordable 4G-enabled smartphones, LYF launched two smartphones, Coolpad and Asus added one smartphone each in its portfolio. Among all LeEco Coolpad co-developed ‘Cool 1’ stole the show, which comes with high-end features and priced competitively.
Karbonn Aura Note 4G, K9 Smart 4G, Titanium Vista 4G and K9 Viraat 4G
Week started with the launch of four affordable 4G-enabled smartphones from Karbonn, which is named as Karbonn Aura Note 4G, K9 Smart 4G, Titanium Vista 4G and K9 Viraat 4G. The Aura Note 4G and K9 Smart 4G are priced at Rs 6,490 and Rs 5,090 respectively, while the Titanium Vista 4G and K9 Viraat 4G is priced at Rs 5,790 and Rs 5,790 respectively.
Starting with the Aura Note 4G, it is the first smartphone by Karbonn to feature a fingerprint sensor. The device comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.25 GHz Quad core Mediatek MT6737 Chipset coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It packs an 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The Aura Note 4G runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is backed by a 2800mAh battery.
The K9 Smart 4G comes with 5-inch FWCA tough glass display. The device comes integrated with Indus OS for local language search, text to speech options and free messaging amongst Indus users. It also comes with native dialer integration of FreeCharge for quick payments in a single tap and easy file transfer options with Xender. For the specs, the K9 Smart 4G comes loaded with a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core MediaTek processor along with Mali-T720 GPU and 1GB of RAM. On the camera front, it has a 5-megapixel camera on both the rear and front. The device is juiced by a 2300 mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The smartphone is available in Black and Grey colour options with sandstone back finish.
Moving on to the the Karbonn Titanium Vista 4G, the device comes with a 5-inch screen and offers curated information and entertainment content in collaboration with Saavn, Voot and Dailyhunt. On the hardware front, the smartphone is powered by a 1.25 GHz quad-core MT6737 chipset, is backed by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, and ports an 8.0 MP rear camera and a 5.0 MP front camera. The Titanium Vista comes in two colours – Champagne White and Black.
Lastly, the K9 Viraat 4G sports a 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by 1.25 GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6737 processor. The phone comes with an 8.0 MP rear camera, while for the front there is a 5.0 MP shooter. The device comes with 2,800mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is available in White Champagne and Black colour variants.
LYF F1s and LYF Water 3
This week LYF has announced the launch of its two new smartphones, named as LYF F1s and LYF Water 3. The LYF F1S is priced at Rs 9,599 and comes in Black Colour, whereas LYF Water 3 cost Rs 6,599 and comes in Silver colour.
The F1s features a 5.2-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection with a pixel density of 423ppi.The smartphone is powered by (1.8GHz + 1.4GHz) an octa-core Snapdragon 652 (MSM8976) SoC, which is paired with Adreno 510 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. For the design, the smartphone is only 7.7 mm thick and weighs at 146 grams.
Running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the LYF F1s has a 3000 mAh non removable battery, which claims of deliver a talktime of up-to 11.5 hours on 4G network, up-to 8 Hours of video playback, 21 hours of audio playback, and Standby time of up-to 320 hours. On the camera front, LYF F1s has a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash on its back, and a 5-megapixel fixed-focus front-facing camera with a front LED flash as well.
Besides, the smartphone offers Dual SIM, 4G with VoLTE, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, a USB port, Type C, Gyroscope, Ambient Light, Accelerometer, Proximity, E-Compass, Motion, and Hall sensor.
On the other hand, the LYF Water 3 has a 5.5-inch HD display that has resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels with 267ppi as pixel density. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core processor with Qualcomm MSM8939 chipset, Adreno 405 GPU coupled with 2GB of RAM to power this phone. For storage, it has 16GB of internal storage and if you run out of storage, you can add a micro SD card of up-to 32GB capacity in its expandable storage slot. However, it runs on the older Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.
The Water 3 gets its power from a 3000 mAh Lithium-ion Polymer battery, which claims to deliver up-to 6 hours of talk-time and up-to 100 hours of standby time. A 13-megapixel auto focus shooter is in its back with a LED flash while a 5-megapixel fixed focus selfie camera is in its front for selfies and video calls. Camera features include Automatic white balance (AWB), brightness, photo Effects( Normal, Mono, Negative, Sepia).
Further, the LYF Water 3 offers Dual SIM, 4G LTE with VoLTE (Video & HD Voice Call), WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, a Micro USB Port 2.0, Ambient Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, E- compass and Accelerometer. The handset measures 156.6mm x 77mm x 7.7mm and weighs around 142 grams.
This weel Asus has added another member to its Zenfone series by launching an affordable Zenfone Go 4.5 LTE smartphone in India, which is priced at Rs 6,999.
The Zenfone Go 4.5 LTE follows the similar design language as we have seen in previous generation Zenfone series with volume rocker placed at the back below the rear camera and power button placed on the top center. As the name suggest, the smartphone comes with a 4.5-inch FWCA display with a screen resolution of 854×480 pixels. On the hardware front, the device is powered by 1.0GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset along with Adreno 306 GPU. The phone is backed by a 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. Asus is also offering an additional 100 GB of Google Drive storage for 2 years.
On the camera front, the device sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with features like Low-light mode, Backlight (HDR) mode, and beautification modes, while for the front there is a 2-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company’s ZenUI running on top of it. Asus Zenfone Go comes with a 2,070mAh removable Lithium-ion battery and support connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, dual SIM, microUSB, GPS and GLONASS. The device measures 136.5 x 66.7 x 3.6~11.2 mm and weighs 135 grams.
The candyboy of this week is Coolpad and LeEco co-developed smartphone ‘Cool 1’. The smartphone is priced at Rs 13,999 and comes in three colour options to choose from – Gold, Silver and Rose Gold.
The major highlight of the smartphone is the dual 13-megapixel rear camera setup of which one is a Monochrome sensor, while the other one is a regular sensor. Further, the dual-camera setup comes with f/2.0 aperture, phase-detection Autofocus (PDAF), dual tone LED flash on the back, while for the front there is an 8-megapixel shooter as well. The device sports a metal unibody design and comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD in-cell display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
