Wham! Mobiles has stepped into the budget smartphone competition with the new W1 Wiry smartphone. The new Wham! W1 Wiry boasts of being world’s slimmest smartphone with 5.8mm thickness. We checked that a Chinese handset maker’s Vivo X3 smartphone measures 5.75 mm thick. However, we can always crown the W1 Wiry as India’s slimmest smartphone with 4-inch AMOLED Display and powered by dual-core 1.2 GHz mobile processor. Wham! Mobiles will sell the W1 Wiry for Rs 9,900 in India.
The Wham! W1 Wiry smartphone offers mere 5.8 mm thickness to be one of the slimmest smartphone available in the Indian market. W1 Wiry features 4-inch amoled display with 640×360 pixel Resolution and has been made using One Glass Solution. That reminds us of the Nokia 808 PureView which too has a 4-inch display and 640×360 pixel resolution.
The W1 Wiry is powered by a dual-core 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6572 mobile Chipset paired with 1 GB RAM and 4 GB on-board storage. There is a memory card slot. This smartphone supports only one micro SIM and offers support for dual-band 3G networks. Other features include WiFi support, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and GPS.
The W1 Wiry has a 5 megapixel fixed focus camera at the back and there is a 2 megapixel front facing camera. Only surprising part of this smartphone is that it features 1100 mAh battery which may not offer enough run time for the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean based apps and games.
Wham! W1 Wiry will compete with the Xolo Q700S and Micromax A110Q Canvas 2 Plus smartphone in the similar price range.
