Sharp Mobile has unveiled a new smartphone in Japan called Sharp Aquos R3. The smartphone comes in Premium Black, Platinum White, Elegant Green, Pink Amethyst, and Luxury Red colour options. Sharp has not revealed the pricing for this smartphone yet and the device will be available from early summer.
Sharp unveiled the Aquos R2 Compact with a dual notch in November last year. Now the company has announced its second phone with a dual notch with the launch of Aquos R3. The upper notch is for the selfie camera while the bottom is for the home button.
The Sharp Aquos R3 features a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ display with a screen resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels and HDR10 support. The USP of the display of the Aquos R3 supports 120 Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core Processor with Adreno 640 GPU, which is clubbed with 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of Internal storage, with an option to expand up to 512GB storage via microSD card. It runs on Android 9 Pie operating system and is backed up by a 3,200 mAh battery with support for 11W Qi wireless charging.
On the camera front, the Aquos R3 sports a dual camera setup with a combination of 12.2MP rear camera with LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, 78° Wide-Angle lens, OIS and 20.1MP secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture, 125° ultra-wide lens. In its front lies a 16.3-megapixel snapper for selfies and video chats with an Aperture of f/2.0. The smartphone houses a front-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Sharp Aquos R3 smartphone supports dual SIM, 4G/LTE with VoLTE network and comes with all basic connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with GLONASS, USB Type-C and 3.5mm Headphone jack. The handset measures 156 x 74 x 8.9 mm and weighs 185 grams. In terms of audio, the Aquos R3 features stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support.
