Samsung has rolled out the Android Marshmallow update for its Samsung Galaxy On7 smartphone. The software version of the update is G600FXXU1APF8. For now, the update has only been released in Turkey and is expected to be rolled out subsequently to other countries as well.
Users must have 2GB of free space to download and install the update as the update weighs over 1GB. Since the update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it to the device. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.
The update brings user interface changes and additions along with stability improvements and some bug fixes. It brings new Doze battery saving feature to hibernate the background apps when the smartphone is in standby mode and ‘Now on Tap’ for Google Now showing contextual information by long pressing on the home button and App permissions to control the information you share with apps.
Samsung Galaxy On7 smartphone was launched in India in November last year for Rs 10,990. The device is now retailing at Rs 9,990 and is available for purchase from Flipkart.
To recall, Samsung Galaxy On7 features a 5.5 inch HD (720p) IPS display. It has the 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Quad Core processor, 1.5 GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory, and a 128 GB micro SD card slot. It runs on Android v5.1 (Lollipop) operating system and is backed up by a 3000 mAh battery.
The On7 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash light, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The camera features include- Auto, Beauty Face, Continuous Shot, Interval Shot, Panorama, One Touch Shoot , Pro-Selfie, Wide Selfie, Palm Gesture Selfie and Digital Zoom.
Besides, the On7 has dual-SIM, Bluetooth 4.1, micro USB 2.0 port, WiFi (b/g/n), WiFi Direct, Wi-fi Hotspot, and GPS with GLONASS and Beidou for navigation. Note that this dual SIM smartphone offers 4G connectivity too. It measures 151.8×77.5×8.2 mm and weighs 171 grams.
