Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) edition with the S Pen stylus at the Mobile Unpacked 2013. The Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition has a 10.1-inch multi-touch touchscreen and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean display. The tablet will be offered in two different models – one with quad-core and octa-core for the select markets. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) will be made available from the third quarter 2013.
Samsung’s the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) tablet features 10.1-inch Super Clear LCD display with multi-touch support. The touchscreen display supports 2560×1600 pixel resolution. The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) will be offered in three flavours – WiFi only, WiFi+3G and WiFi+4G. These three models will have different processors. The WiFi+4G version will have a quad-core 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 system-on-chip with Adreno 330 graphics chip whereas the other two flavours will have octa-core 1.9 Ghz Samsung Exynos 5 Octa mobile chipset. All models will pack 3 GB RAM to run the Nature UX experience on top of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update smoothly.
By default, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) packs 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB on-board storage and will feature a memory card slot to accommodate up to 64 GB micro SD card. Samsung has packed 8 megapixel BSI sensor bearing camera at the back with zero shutter lag, auto focus and LED Flash. This camera can be used to record full 1080p HD videos. In its front lies a 2 megapixel camera for video calling and portrait images.
Samsung has packed Dual-Band WiFi, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, AllShareCast and GPS with GLONASS support to enhance the wireless connectivity experience on the tablet.
The S Pen has been enhanced to provide more engrossing experience with the S Note, S Planner, and even the new Air Command which shows up when the S Pen is removed. Of course, the plethora of Samsung apps are already loaded on the tablet. The multi-tasking has been boosted with the Multi Window feature and the Pen Window allows drawing the window size on the screen. Samsung has also added the ChatOn, WatchOn and freshly introduced personalized web content reader – My Magazine to the tablet.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) measures 7.9 mm thick while the WiFi version is 535 grams heavy. Samsung has added a massive 8220 mAh battery to this tablet. We hope this fantastic and powerful tablet will not compete with the laptops in terms of pricing.
