Samsung to launch Galaxy S7, S7 Edge in India next month; announces Gear 360 at MWC 2016

As expected, Samsung has announced its latest Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones along with the Gear 360.

Samsung has unveiled its latest flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. As per our sources, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S7 and S7 in India on March 11 and will offer headset for free with the devices.

The Galaxy S7 has a 5.1 inch display while the S7 Edge has a 5.5 inch screen – both offer the same Quad resolution. As the name suggests, the S7 Edge has edge display, as is seen in S6 Edge while the S7 has the traditional look. These phones are also water and resistant and thus has been IP68 certified.

The phones have 12 megapixel camera with F1.7 (the lowest for a smartphone till date) and hence should offer brighter images. Moreover Samsung claims to have employed something called “dual pixel” technology which, in which “each and every one of the pixels on the image sensor has two photodiodes instead of one, meaning the professional-grade Dual Pixel Sensor can focus as quickly and as accurately as you would with your own eyes”.

Besides, the rear cameras of S7 and S7 Edge are armed with phase detection auto focus, motion panorama, motion photo, and hyper lapse features. They have 5 megapixel front camera that comes with wide selfie mode.

Besides, Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have 4 RAM, 200 GB micro SD card slot, hybrid dual SIM (the SIM2 slot can be used for micro SD card or the SIM2), and Samsung Exynos (in the US S7 will come with Snapdragon 820 CPU). The S7 has a 3000 mAh battery while S7 has a 3600 mAh battery. Both the phones come with wireless charging and Quick charging facilities. Ofcourse they have the latest Marshmallow operating system. The smartphones to come is two storage variants- 32GB and 64GB.

Gear 360

The Samsung Gear 360, which resembles a baseball, allows users to take 360 degrees videos. It has actually two lenses – one in the front and one in the rear. Each of them capture 180 degree videos which are then combined to create a 360 degree video.

Else you can use it just one of the lens to create a wide angle video or still picture. They can record videos in 3840×1920 pixels or 30 still pictures. The Gear 360’s lenses are armed with F2.0 aperture. It is dust and splash resistant. You can pair the Gear 360 with Samsung Galaxy smartphones via or WiFi Direct.

The Gear 360 is actually armed with 15 megapixel lenses with CMOS sensor. Besides, it has a 0.5 inch PAMOLED display with 72×32 pixels resolution, 1 GB RAM, Gyro and sensors, 1350 mAh battery, WiFi (ac), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, 2.0, NFC, and DRIMe5s chipset. The Samsung Gear 360 is compatible with Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, Note 5, S7 and S7 Edge.
