The Samsung Galaxy S4, which is currently the best equipped phone in the market with best benchmark scores for performance, is going to be launched today in India. The phone will be available from tomorrow through Samsung estore as well as other leading outlets. The phone is expected to be priced more than Rs 40,000.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 will be the first Android smartphone to feature an eight core Exynos 5 Octa 5410 mobile processor, clocked at 1.6 GHz and the new PowerVR SGX544MP3 graphics chip.

The Galaxy S4 features a 5 inch full HD Super Amoled display, built using Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology. Galaxy S4 is just 7.9 mm thick and it is still slimmer than the 8.6 mm thick Galaxy SIII. In terms of weight, the Galaxy S4 measures 130 grams compared to the Galaxy S III which weighs 133 grams.
At the back Samsung has used a 13 Megapixel camera with LED flash, Autofocus and zero shutter lag features. This camera is capable of recording full HD videos and clicking high quality images. There is also a front facing camera capable of clicking high quality self-portraits and video.
Samsung has introduced the new dual shot feature that allows the phone to record video and click images, as well as click two images at the same time using both cameras. For connectivity, apart from 3G network and high speed WiFi support. Samsung has also added Bluetooth 4.0 and Infrared LED for remote control. The Samsung Galaxy S4 runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with a layer of the latest Nature UX as part of TouchWiz UI. For longer run time, Samsung has packed a 2600 mAh battery and will also offer an extra battery kit as part of accessories.
By default, the company has added an inductive charging chip on the back panel cover so the phone can be charged wirelessly without using an additional cover.
