Samsung is soon going to announce the launch of a Clamshell design based Android powered smartphone the Samsung Galaxy Folder (SHV-E400S/SHV-E400K). The Galaxy Folder will be a low end Android smartphone coupled with a full sized numeric keypad in a folding clamshell design.
As reports suggest, the Samsung Galaxy Folder will be released first in South Korea in the month of August this year and considering it will be a low end device, the price is likely to hover around the same price point as the Samsung Galaxy Chat.
Although specifications are scarce as of now, as per reports it will be based on Google’s Android Jelly Bean operating system. There will be an 800 x 480 Pixel resolution based display featuring a 3.7 or 4 inch screen in the phone. Besides, it would have a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual core Processor which is likely to be around the 1 GHz plus category.
Despite being a just another Android smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Folder will be a boon for those who prefer physical keypads over touchscreen but will offer the best of both with a hardware keypad and a touchscreen.
