Samsung sets up IFA press conference on August 30, a new Smart Home?

The invitation hints that we might see a bunch of new IoT-enabled smart refrigerators, Smart TVs, and washing machines that will be announced during its press conference and later showcased at IFA 2018. The poster also points at a smartphone with a stylus, which means the Note 9 will up at display at Berlin.

Samsung has today revealed that it’ll be hosting its own product keynote at the IFA 2018 in Berlin, Germany which is expected to take place from August 31 to September 5. The invitation from Samsung published first by GSMArena has been set to take place a day before the event, that is, August 30.

Samsung’s announcement falls on the same date as Sony’s upcoming product launch which was confirmed last month hinting the launch of their upcoming Xperia XZ3 lineup. Samsung, on the other hand, is hinting at something other than a smartphone launch since it’ll already be launching their Galaxy Note 9 on August 9 in Brooklyn, New York.

The invitation hints that we might see a bunch of new IoT-enabled smart refrigerators, Smart TVs, and washing machines that will be announced during its press conference and later showcased at IFA 2018. The poster also points at a smartphone with a stylus, which means the Note 9 will up at display at the Berlin-based technology event.

Reports also suggest that a new Galaxy Watch will also see an introduction considering the fact that the South Korean company unveiled the Gear Sport watch at last year’s event. If launched, the Galaxy Watch will be a direct successor to Samsung’s Gear S3 lineup because the Gear Sport was primarily a product devised for athletes.

Samsung has always been fond of the German trade show and it has gone on to profit them immensely since it lines up well with the launch of its Note smartphone. The Note 9 will be no different and will see a post-launch showcasing for promotion before Samsung starts selling the flagship device.

So expect something new and not just smartphone when Samsung visits the IFA 2018 event. We’ll know more about it when we close in on the date which is set for August 30.
