Samsung has started rolling out the Nougat update to its Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 range of tablets. As of now, the 9.7-inch Wi-Fi only tablet with the model number SM-T810 is getting Nougat in Germany, while the 8.0-inch 4G capable tablet with model number SM-T715 received the Nougat update in Italy. The tablets were initially launched with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system. Currently, the Android 7.0 Nougat update has been rolled out in select European countries, but we expect the update to roll out in other countries soon.
The new build weights around 1GB and bring new features like Game Launcher, a new UX to the Galaxy Tab S2 tablets, as well as improved usability of the Notification feature and Quick settings button. The update also enhances Multi window feature, along with the tablet’s overall performance. The speed of system upgrade and App installation should be improved too.
The original Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 tablets were launched back in 2015. To recall, the Galaxy Tab S2 comes with WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi Direct, 32GB inbuilt memory and expandable storage of up to 128GB. The tablet has an 8-inch Super AMOLED Display with 2048×1536 pixels resolution and 9.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 2048×1536 pixels resolution. The tablet measures 169 x 237.3 x 5.6mm and weighs 392g with a 5870 mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 has a powerful Exynos octa-core Processor and 3 GB RAM. It also offers an 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front camera. The tablet has a fingerprint scanner as well along with Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Hall and RGB sensors.
