Samsung has issued the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for its Galaxy S Advance smartphone in India. What is also important is that the phone has also got a massive price cut and is not available for Rs 12,495.
The upgrade will be pushed in phases and over the air update will take two three days more to reach users, however the update is available now through Kies (through PC).
The upgrade is expected to bring a better and responsive user interface to the Galaxy S Advance along with Android’s very own integrated voice recognition engine.
The Samsung Galaxy S Advance is the updated version of the popular Galaxy S smartphone. It comes with a WVGA (854×480) Super AMOLED Display and a large 4 inch curved glass screen. It gets 1 GHz dual core processor.
In terms of connectivity you get 3G speeds to up to 14.4 Mbps download speeds, and Bluetooth 3.0 and also has WiFi Direct feature which connects users to other devices through WiFi access points for easy content sharing. There is a 5 Megapixel camera in the handset also.
Samsung Galaxy S Advance also features Find My Mobile, a unique lost-phone management system that enables users to trace their lost phone via a web Browser and allows remote deletion of data.
When launched a year back the phone was available for Rs 26,900 and the new price makes it an enticing alternative to Sony Xperia J, HTC One V, etc.
