South Korean mobile phone giant, Samsung is holding its “Galaxy Unpacked” event on Thursday in New York. At this event, the company is expected to reveal its next generation phablets and the web is filled with rumours that the list would certainly include the Galaxy Note 5 and the Samaung Galaxy Edge Plus. Tech blogger, Evan Blass has even tweeted pictures of the phones (see image above).
As per rumours, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will come with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Display with resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. According to @evleaks, the Note 5 will have 5.66 inch display. It would be powered by a 64-bit Samsung’s Exynos 7422 octa-core processor and 4GB RAM and would ofcourse have the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system.
Besides, alleged specification suggest at a 32GB variant for sure with no microSD expansion facility, As a result, you can expect 64GB and maybe 128GB variant. Reportedly, the Galaxy Note 5 has a 3000 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery, which was surprising as its predecessor, the Note 4, has a bigger 3220 mAh battery. As claimed, the battery will offer a maximum Talk time of 21 hours and Standby time of 336 hours. The Galaxy Note 5 is said to support wireless charging (supported by Quick Charge 2.0) but you will need to buy the charging pad separately.
The Galaxy Note 5 reportedly will have a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization feature while in the front it will have a 5-megapixel selfie camera. For connectivity, the smartphone said to have 4G/LTE, Bluetooth 4.1,A2DP, EDR, LE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n,dual-band, WiFi Hotspot, WiFi Direct, micro USB port, 3.5 mm jack, and GPS with AGPS and GLONASS. Besides this it has S-Pen stylus, like other Galaxy Note variants and has Fingerprint sensor (PayPal certified) as additional feature.
On the other hand, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus would have a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display (Curved edge) with the 2K resolution (2048×1080 pixels) and Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Some other reports though pointed at a 5.7 inch display with Quad HD resolution. The phone is said to come with the Exynos 7420 octa-core (Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2.1 GHz Cortex-A57) processor and 4GB RAM. In all certainty, if launched, the S6 Edge Plus will have the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system while reports indicated towards a fingerprint sensor. Meanwhile, Evan Blass said that Samsung will offer a separate QWERTY keypad cover for the S6 Edge Plus.
As per leaks, there will be three variants of the Samsung S6 Edge Plus – 32GB, 64GB and 128GB – and claimed that the phone will not have any microSD expansion facility. Besides, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus claimed to have 3000 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery, 16-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, 4G/LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Dual-Band WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, WiFi Direct, NFC, micro USB port, 3.5 mm jack, and GPS with AGPS and GLONASS.
