Samsung’s Galaxy Xcover 2 smartphone, which was unveiled in January this year, is finally available in the markets for purchase.
Currently, the smartphone is being offered by a Finnish retailer – Gigantiti – for about Rs 23,200 (starting price). Considering its availability in international markets, the Galaxy Xcover 2 is now being expected to hit the Indian shores by the end of this month. However, its price is expected to hover around Rs 30,000 mark considering the recent increase in duties on mobile phones.
It has a 4 inch LCD display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution and a scratch resistant surface. The device is IP67 certified which means that it is dust proof and water proof for up to 1 meter of depth for up to 30 minutes of immersion. Following the lines of the Sony Xperia Go, the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 comes complete with hardware keys on the front which is great as it’s difficult to use the touchscreen when wet.
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 2 comes with a dual core Processor running at 1 GHz on Android Ice Cream Sandwich with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. The storage can further be increased to up to 32 GB through a micro SD card.
